Meet The Team
Katrina is passionate about two things: people and recruitment.
Since graduating with a Bachelor of Business degree Kat has gained over 10 years’ experience in HR and Recruitment Solutions within Australia and the UK.
Kat has worked in a number of agencies, both global and boutique (including now her own!) as well as Internal Recruitment and HR for some very well-known household brands, such as Toyota, Mars and Honda. Kat’s speciality is matching outstanding candidates with incredible clients in office based roles. Whether it is temporary, contract or permanent positions, Kat is particular about who she works with and encourages relationships built through trust, honesty, loyalty and respect.
Imogen believes hiring great people to be the most important first step towards an organisation’s success.
With a career that spans 10 years and three continents, Imogen has held roles at some of the highest performing agencies in the world. She has led and mentored staff and held a variety of positions including, Senior Consultant, On-Site Manager for a major global investment bank and Delivery Manager designing and running hundreds of volume recruitment campaigns. This combined experience has left her a true expert when it comes to the recruitment industry. Imogen is focused on exceeding expectations and is ready to help MAYDAY’s clients and candidates with true consultation.
Jo isn’t your average recruitment consultant.
After embarking on careers in both travel and real estate that span over a decade, Jo discovered the crazy world of recruitment and hasn’t looked back since. Now 10 years on, she has some notable accolades to her name including management, mentor, senior leader and being the most successful and highest billing consultants in both of her previous agencies.
Jo’s passion for recruitment is unparalleled and like the rest of the MAYDAY team, she won’t rest until everyone is happy. She thrives under pressure and prides herself on being the go to person in any situation. Above all, she loves a good chat and tells an extremely entertaining story.
Michelle is Janet’s right-hand woman and joined MAYDAY with a wealth of experience in all things accounts! Recently re-joining the workforce, she loves her work-life balance between MAYDAY and family time. She is passionate about the relationships she builds with clients and candidates and she prides herself on her soft and friendly nature. She is first to pick up the phone and thrives on troubleshooting and getting everyone paid on time! Besides running around after her toddler, she also loves to spend time at the beach and hang out with friends!
Lynne joined MAYDAY in October 2017, however her history with the company, its Directors and the Recruitment Industry spans over a decade. Having spent the last four years as a Senior Business Development Manager within Finance, Lynne is interested in understanding all aspects of the company she’s partnering with; their goals, and challenges, as part of the process of finding them top talent. She has a genuine passion for helping people to be successful; whether that is helping them find the ideal role, or training and developing her growing team to reach their full potential.
Outside of the office, Lynne is usually cruising around Sydney’s Northern Beaches, practicing yoga, or enjoying a cider with friends in the sun.
Janet is a hands-on Finance Manager who is passionate about delivering results.
With over 20 years of experience in a broad range of industries Australia wide, Janet brings to MAYDAY a wealth of knowledge.
Janet cares about keeping both our clients and candidates happy, and will go the extra mile to accomplish this. She brings an air of calmness to the busy MAYDAY office and is a valuable and highly respected team member.
When not keeping the MAYDAY ship steady, Janet enjoys spending time with her family and friends on NSW’s Central Coast.
Bizzie Lizzie is certainly her name! Mum of two, and full of fun she is certainly our ‘go-to’ for any Specialist roles. Her track record includes agency and internal recruitment as well as HR Consulting such as process improvements, recruitment campaigns and professional resume writing.
Lizzie has the ability to build trusted relationships with stakeholders and candidates at all levels through an effective and consultative approach, allowing her to form long-lasting business relationships. She is passionate about supporting business HR strategies to source and place the best candidates through effective advisory and partnering to achieve win-win people scenarios.
Meet Kelly, MAYDAY’S Social Butterfly! A self-proclaimed Bondi chick, she loves her Sydney lifestyle and is a force to be reckoned with when it comes to all things networking! Kelly comes to MAYDAY with a wealth of experience in Business Support and one of her biggest achievements so far is throwing away that ‘To-do’ list and doing it the MAYDAY way! Specialising in Professional Services, she is your go-to person for a new hire or a career move within the insurance industry.
When she is taking a break from interviewing and networking, Kelly is a key member of MAYDAY’S fun committee and is always on the lookout for our next fun adventure!
Office & Marketing Manager
Jo is our office unicorn and often goes by the name of Jo Lo.
She is our Office and Marketing Manager, organising everyone and everything at MAYDAY HQ! She is also a social media whizz, it’s in her blood and most days you will find her in a posting frenzy before the kettle has even boiled!
As well as design, she also has a passion for swimming and she teaches little munchkins in her spare time! This is all as well as juggling her studies – wonder woman!
Obsessed with travel and food, if Jo Lo isn’t at work, studying or in the pool, you will find her tasting the many delights this city has to offer!
Hannah does not stop until she sources the perfect candidate. Her search skills are unreal, and she can literally find a needle in a haystack! The MAYDAY team often marvel at her ability to “find unicorns”!! Hannah’s background spans white and blue collar, and high volume call centre recruitment in the UK. She loves the industry and with over four years experience from the UK, is excited to take the Sydney recruitment world by storm!
Hannah prides herself on her strong work ethic, her customer service and her attention to detail. Outside of MAYDAY Hannah is taking in everything that Sydney has to offer (including the Irish bars!). She loves her new home in the city’s east, and is excited to experience her first Sydney summer.
Vanessa has a background in acting and writing for stage and screen, having studied Honours and a Bachelor of Performing Arts at Monash University, before moving to Sydney to study a Bachelor of Dramatic Art (Acting) at NIDA. She started a theatre company for which she wrote, acted and directed new plays, was a finalist in the Beverly Hills Film Festival for a feature screenplay, and won Best Short for a comedy web-series at the Impro Film Festival. Through this, Vanessa has dedicated her time to studying people and human behaviour, in order to understand their drive, desires, and individuality, which has married well with her new career in recruitment. Vanessa now recruits Permanent staff for some of Australia’s largest and well-known organisations, and she gets a real thrill out of matching excellent candidates with equally excellent companies.
Outside of recruitment, Vanessa is on a mission to eat her way around Sydney, scavenging for the tastiest morsels and drops of crimson this great city has to offer.
Back in the UK Emily was part of the HR team for one of the world’s most loved book publishers. She arrived in Australia in 2016 after chasing the sun around South East Asia for six months. Emily has since found a new love for Sydney and is thrilled to be part of the MAYDAY family. Emily specialises in temporary recruitment for all levels of customer service and sales positions, and currently works with some of Australia’s leading Insurance, Sales, and Facilities Management companies.
Emily always goes above and beyond when it comes to building relationships and customer service, and is the current MAYDAY Queen of Referrals!
In her spare time Emily loves to explore what Sydney has to offer – great food, good company, live music, and the occasional glass of wine!
Stepping straight off the Catwalk and into the Corporate world, Jamie comes from a background of Fashion, Producing and Talent Management. She is definitely MAYDAY’S stylish fashionista! Over the years, Jamie has developed a precise eye for talent and builds and maintains relationships through everything she does. She loves the crazy world of temp recruitment, loves to work under pressure and is most definitely our SOS queen!
In her spare time, Jamie loves nothing more than a gentle coastal walk, basking in the sunshine and sharing a cheeky red wine.
